Digital Media Technologies

From computer games to mobile applications, the digital world is vast and growing. Even though it is in early stages, it already offers a staggering variety of resources. A formal discipline taught at several universities, it has opened up a new and exciting area of opportunities. Most of the universities have facilities that will help ground students in creativity and practical applications. Many actively help develop visual thinking. Some background in computers and software will be very useful. Many focus on digital media production. Ryerson University offers a Master of Digital Media program, integrated with one of the largest startup incubators in Canada (http://www.ryerson.ca/graduate/digitalmedia/). ie School of Human Sciences and Technology offers a Master in Visual and Digital Media (http://www.ie.edu/school-human-sciences-technology/communication/programs/master-in-visual-and-digital-media/). The Center for Digital Media, which is a collaboration between four institutions, offers a Master of Digital Media Program (https://thecdm.ca/program/mdm).

University of Portsmouth offers an MSc in Digital Media (http://www.port.ac.uk/courses/computing-and-creative-technologies/msc-digital-media/).

Delft University of Technology offers an EIT Master of Innovation within which it teaches digital media technology (http://www.tudelft.nl/en/study/master-of-science/master-programmes/computer-science/eit-master-ict-innovation/).

University of Lincoln offers an MA in Digital Media, focusing on, among other aspects, the potential that online, mobile and emerging media platforms offer (http://www.lincoln.ac.uk/home/course/digmedma/).
