Publishing

There is a range of courses offered at various universities, some focusing on the creative aspects while others on building skills to run the publishing business.

Manchester Metropolitan University runs an MA in Publishing, which teaches how to “explore the complex anatomies and eco-systems of the publishing industry and its markets in the UK and internationally, as well as the trends, innovations, opportunities and challenges facing this rapidly changing profession.” (https://www.mmu.ac.uk/study/postgraduate/course/ma-publishing/) In a similar way, the University of Derby runs an MA in Publishing which covers “every stage of publishing including editorial, production, sales and marketing – from initial ideas to cover design, and from book launches to sales data analysis” (https://www.derby.ac.uk/postgraduate/english-creative-writing-publishing-courses/publishing-ma/) Stephen F.
